FAQs

Who writes The Bevan Briefing?
It’s written by a slightly sleep-deprived health tech and policy nerd on maternity leave (that’d be me). I’ve worked in and around NHS technology, strategy, and transformation for a while — this is my way of staying plugged in during naptime.
Why did you start this newsletter?
Because I'm having a baby at the time that the NHS is about to publish it's latest grand unifying strategy - The 10 Year Plan. I wanted to make sure that there was a place I could document the evolution of that and make sure I understand the implications of that before I come back into the workforce in 2026.
How often do you publish?
Expect new posts roughly fortnightly. If the baby naps long enough, it might be more. If not... well, see above re: sleep deprivation.
What kinds of topics do you cover?
Think digital health strategy, NHS policy updates, data and interoperability debates, AI hype (and reality), international viewpoints and occasionally a cry for help when there's something I can't wrap my head around.
Is this affiliated with the NHS or any consultancy?
Nope. All views are my own — no employer past or present gets a say. You’ll find a full disclaimer on the homepage.
Can I share this with colleagues?
Please do! It’s free to subscribe, and I’m always happy for it to be passed around. It's mainly for my own brain to make sense of what's going on in lieu of adult conversation.
Can I suggest a topic or contribute?
Absolutely. Drop me a note via hello@thebevanbriefing.com. No promises on turnaround time, but I’ll read everything.
What’s with the name?
Yes, that Bevan. No relation — just a nod to the founding spirit. Plus, it makes for a good logo.
